Ola kind readers,

Time sure zoom past fast! Just a blink of an eye and the year has already shaded into July.

I have not been feeling too sociable the last couple of months. Have you ever felt that way? Wanting and needing alone-time and space apart from people?

My cutting down on social activities means more time to do whatever I want, and I… decided to take a risk.

If you have read my previous entries, you will know that I tested my limits by going back to swimming.
There was a mild eczema flareup when I first started on it late last year. However, surprisingly, the swimming helped my condition by leaps and bounds [and until now I do not understand what happened there] and though I still encounter the occasional flareups, the eczema is very much ‘controlled’ now.

Recently, I have been going to the gym.

In the past, just being out in the sun for a few seconds will cause my skin to prick in itchiness. One gym session will cause at least a week of agony and sleepless nights. Needless to say, I was very hesitant about pushing boundaries.

But I decided to try it out because I want to lose some weight [ahem, this is so female!].

Once, twice, thrice… Nothing much happened, ‘nothing’ being no flareups. O, happiness!!

After the ‘trial’ sessions, I spend as much time as possible at the gym working out like a fiend [ok, so I am exaggerating] to burn fats and tone my body. There have not been any dramatic changes to my body as yet, but it feels great to be able to sweat it out.. and not have a crazy eczema flareup. The joy is twofold and incredible. Maybe my life can go back to how it was in the past.. a little?

There is not a single time I take it for granted though. Since swimming helped my dermatitis, I take care
to alternate gymming and swimming, just in case my body cannot handle it.

Everything works like a mobius strip. With the lack of flareups, I am motivated to workout more. Being able to exercise makes me more motivated to lose weight and tone up. Wanting to shape up makes me more determined to not let eczema dictate my life.

I never dreamed that there will come a day when the eczema is controlled. To reward myself, I got me
a little something for my gym sessions.

Let’s all live well, be healthy.

With love,
starmist
