QV GIVEAWAY: Jeans for Genes Day

Today is Jeans for Genes Day. I have loved the execution of this fund raising for a long time now. It might be the scientist in me that loves the stylized double helix jeans or just the execution of the baby wrapped up in jeans appealing to my inner mother genes but I think it’s probably one of the better executed fund raisers going around.

There are a few charities that we really identify with and give to on a regular basis, such as Red Kite, The Peter McCallum Cancer Institute, The Malcolm Sargent Cancer Fund for Children and World Vision (tsunami relief).

We are interested to hear about the charities close to your heart and why you support them?

  Child Fund – I sponsor a child in The Gambia in Africa and it is really wonderful to be able to help her and her family and lovely to read her letters. I think that sponsorship really makes a difference to her life.

  RISA – my little girl at 9 weeks had her first gagging/choking episode and it was all due to her silent reflux. I love the support RISA provide and information to be able to deal with Silent Reflux!

  My favourite charity is RSPCA they do some really good work for our 4 legged little friends. They have great school holiday educational workshop for kids

  Mater Little Miracles – having recently had a premmie baby (who is now home and healthy) my family and I have fundraised to help other sick kids at the Mater Hospitals.
